Good to know

What does “rebottled” mean?

A composite IBC has two main parts: the plastic bottle that holds the product, and the steel cage that protects it. Cages routinely outlast bottles.

Rebottling replaces the bottle with a brand-new one in a cage that has been inspected and reconditioned. You get a fresh, clean container at a lower cost than buying new — and one less cage goes to scrap.

FAQ

Common questions

Is the bottle new or washed?

New. Every rebottled IBC has a brand-new bottle in a reconditioned cage. If you want a washed, reused bottle in a reconditioned cage, see our Washouts.

How is a rebottled IBC different from a reconditioned one?

Terminology varies across the industry. At MPH United, rebottled means a brand-new bottle in an inspected, reconditioned cage. A Washout is a separate product: a washed, reused bottle in a reconditioned cage, at a lower cost per unit.

Where do the cages come from?

Largely from our pickup program — we collect empty reusable IBCs across North America, and cages that pass inspection are rebottled.
